OUR MISSION
Our mission is to make the Alpha-Stim® microcurrent therapeutic devices available to all Australians and New Zealanders, both in the medical profession and the general public. Alpha-Stim® can used as a stand-alone treatment, or as a complemetary to most other therapies including pharmaceuticals. It is non-invasive, non-pharmaceutical and easy to use for the management of Anxiety, Insomnia, Stress and Pain.
The purpose of this website is to inform and make available to both Health Professionals and the general public, the technology of microcurrent therapy and the Alpha-Stim products.

ABOUT US
We started our small family Company in early 2007 and now have dozens of Psychiatrists, General Practitioner’s and other Health Care Professionals, as well as hundreds of patients using the Alpha-Stim® for the treatment of stress, anxiety, insomnia and pain conditions.
Our business backgrounds are diverse, but we all have had successful businesses of our own over the years, including nursing and university degree majoring in psychology and human behaviour.
We know that we cannot (financially anway), compete with the large pharmaceutical companies in advertising our product, but we endeavour to spread the word as best we can. We promote the Alpha-Stim at Medical Conferences, Congresses and seminars around Australia, as you can see over to the left of this site. We advertise in medical journals and magazines. We advertise on television. We are investing in the Alpha-Stim microcurrent devices because we believe that they really do help people, as can be seen in the Testimonials we have been getting from our customers and also the positive feedback we receive from health professionals, Psychiatrists, GP's Physiotherapists etc.
Although this therapy has been available in the USA and Europe for 26 years, it was almost unknown in Australia. The family thought that this therapy should be available to all Australians and New Zealanders, and sought to become the Australian and New Zealand Distributors of Alpha-Stim® range of products.
In the short time we have been in business, we take much pleasure when we hear from a patient who has gained relief from their debilitating illness using the Alpha-Stim®. You can read some of their comments on the 'Testimonials’ page of this website.
The Alpha-Stim® does not work for everyone, but over 80% of people find some benefit. We have a rental scheme for anyone who would like to try the device to see if it helps them.
So if you are prepared to use it for up to an hour a day for at least 4-6 weeks initially, then on an as-needed basis, you may be pleasantly surprised. You can also purchase right now and receive free freight to anywhere in Australia.
Workcover have covered the devices, as have some of the private health funds. We are working on getting Medicare to cover it as well (but this takes time, as you will appreciate).
HOW WE STARTED – OUR STORY
We are a small family company which was formed when a family member found the Alpha-Stim® microcurrent devices whilst searching the web. She had suffered from severe anxiety and depression for decades and over the years had tried a plethora of antidepressant pharmaceuticals and many other therapies without success.
With nothing to lose, but a few dollars, she asked her Psychiatrist to look into the research behind the Alpha-Stim® therapy to see if it might be suitable for her to try. He agreed to do so and found that there was every reason for her to try it and hardly any reason not to, except the purchase price. However, this was minimal compared with the cost of the long periods of hospitalization and medical costs that she was paying.
She went ahead and ordered one, although she had absolutely no expectations of it having any effect. Both she and her doctor were amazed to find that after using it daily for an hour a day for a couple of weeks, she was starting to feel less depressed and anxious than she could ever remember.
Her family were also very impressed and noticed that she seemed happier and more confident.
She has not had to stay in hospital since she first used the Alpha-Stim, and now has a much better quality of life. She has also reduced her medications to half under her doctor’s supervision.
She knows that she is not cured, and still has times when she feels down, but they are shorter and less severe than before Alpha-Stim. She feels that her enjoyment of life has improved immensely, and likes the fact that she has control over her own treatment, using the Alpha-Stim to help her through any stressful life events.
Alpha-Stim has become a part of her life, always on hand when she needs it.
As a bonus she found that her Private Health fund reimbursed her for some of the cost of the purchase of the Alpha-Stim.
Her doctor now uses it in his practice with many of his patients as he feels that it is a very useful tool to have available.
She and other members of the family felt that these devices should be made available to all Australians. Pacific Medistim Distributors Pty Ltd was formed in 2007, in order to import and distribute these devices to health professional and the general public of Australia and New Zealand.
